Background of the GLBADF Project
After the restoration of the Kingdom in 1993 and the eventual coronation of Ronald Muwenda Mutebi as Kabaka of Buganda Kingdom, the Katikkiro and the Omuwanika with the entire Cabinet, realized that the newly restored Kingdom had no predictable and reliable sources of income, since the Kingdoms were barred by the 1995 Constitution to levy and collect taxes to fund their administrative costs. Consequently, in March 2000, the Kingdom launched a voluntary contribution through the buying of certificates by the Baganda and their well wishers annually, and now it is one of the sources of revenue to the Kingdoms’ Treasury.
What is ADF (Annual Donation Fund?)
