How does it benefit the people of Buganda Kingdom?

The collections from Annual Donation Fund project (certificates) have been and are being used to finance cultural activities such as rehabilitation of tombs and royal palaces,co-financing social and economic programmes such as education, reproductive health, immunization and other Kingdom programmes. It has really made a tremendous contribution not only for the Baganda, but for all the people within the boundaries of the Central region of Uganda.

Below are some of the activities supported by ADF:

            1.   Huge contributions have been made towards Kabaka Education Fund (KEF) which gives scholarships to the needy students to enable them pursue their education in tertiary institutions;

            2.   Funds from the Scheme have been used to rehabilitate tombs and royal palaces, Kasubi Royal Tombs being the case in point;

           3.   Buganda Kingdom Development Strategy (BKDS) activities have been funded by the funds from the sale of certificates;

           4.   From the funds collected, sales agents have been facilitated with bicycles hence not only easing the sale and distribution of certificates but also their own transport while on other duties;

          5.   Some of the funds have been used to mobilize the rural masses to involve themselves in community services works popularly known as Bulungi Bwansi.One tractor has been bought in this regard;

          6.   In an effort to support the environment /keeping Kabakas land free from encroachers, the project bought 1,000 tree seedlings and donated them to Kalungu Sub-county – Buddu. N.B.  They are all out grown.
