Fight Corruption to Save this Country- Katikkiro

Katikkiro, Eng J.B. WalusimbiKatikkiro Eng J.B. Walusimbi has urged people in Buganda to fight corruption to pave way for development.

This was in his message delivered for him by the minister without portfolio in the office of the Katikkiro Israel Mayengo to residents of Makindye Ssabagabo Masajja zone at Bulange Mengo late last week.

Katikkiro observed that corruption has infiltrated all corners of this country leading to a delay in the release of reports on corruption in most of the offices implicated while other reports never come out at all.

He urged schools to initiate the sensitization of children on the dangers and evils of corruption right from primary level which he said should be accompanied by awards for the most trusted and honest pupil in a particular school in the efforts to curb down on corruption.

Katikkiro furthermore urged people to widen the spirit of Community based services to include homesteads and households where people help each even in education of children on villages.

Residents of Makindya Ssaabagabo Masajja led by the Deputy Ssaabagabo Ssempala Kigozi Emmanuel commended Buganda Land Board for its services in protecting Kingdom’s land.

They however decried the big numbers of unemployed youths in Makindye whom they said require immediate help through the provision of technical skills to help them initiate their own businesses.

They bought certificates worth 367,000, a cow, goats, chicken, banana bunches, and firewood all items for the Kabaka of Buganda.
