Zambogo Elects New Leadership

Baganda Nkobazambo Association has elected new leadership with Mukasa Francis Kigoye from Ndejje University Luweero Campus as the new Nkobazambogo national chairperson.

Kigoye who replaces Simon Peter Kaddumukasa beat Sserunjogi David Moses of Data Mine Technical Institute by 131 to 52 votes to win Nkobazambogo National chairmanship during the Association elections held at Bulange, Mengo last weekend. Kigoye will be deputized by Ssejjengo Baker of Makerere University while other members on the National Executive Council include Betty Nalugo from Kyambogo University as the Secretary, Ndawula Godfrey as from Kyambogo University as the Treasurer, Nabbaale Veronica is the woman representative while Kafeero Paul is the male representative on to the council.

The minister for Youth and Employment in Buganda Kingdom, Florence Bagunywa Nkalubo who presided over the elections urged the new leadership to unite all Nkobazambogo members and to work towards resolving any divisions among the Association.

The outgoing chairperson, Simon Peter Kaddumukasa stressed the need to revive Nkobazambogo spirit among the youths across the country in the efforts to strengthen he association and its popularity.

He urged the new leaders to carryout intensive sensitization to Zambogo members draw a line between politics and culture.

In his speech, the newly elected chairperson promised to work towards uniting all Nkobazambogo members as a way of building a strong foundation for Buganda Kingdom in the future.
