EKISAAKAATE HOLDS TRAINERS’ TRAINING |

Ekisaakaate interim committee last week organized a trainer of trainers’ workshop at Bulange, Mengo in an effort to fulfill the program’s mission of creating a strong foundation for a healthy and new generation.
The training under the theme “self awareness and self worth” attracted 25 participants and was intended to equip the trainers with skills that will help them to train the youth during the next camping.
The trainers were trained in life planning skills, understanding sexuality, sex and gender roles, sexually transmitted diseases, abstinence, attitudes, myths and misconceptions about drugs, sex, alcohol and other drug influences.
The five day training was facilitated by Children Aids Fund (CAF) an International Non Government Organization that helps children who have been affected by HIV/AIDS and their families.
Edreda Bampata the CAF Prevention Project Manager, in her speech to the trainers appreciated the Ekisaakaate committee for having initiated the training of trainers on ‘Smart Choices’ and promised more support to the Ekisaakaate programme.
The minister of state for Royal visits, Kabuuza Mukasa who is also the chairperson of the interim committee thanked CAF for the support to the Ekisaakaate especially druing the 2010 camping at Katikamu SDA in Bulemeezi.
Kabuuza promised that such trainings will be held to benefit the children during the next camping.
He revealed that the programme intends to widen its scope to include HIV/AIDS sensitization to the youths. |
