Ssaabasajja has launched BBS TV at a function held at Masengere where the station is located.
His Majesty the Kabaka was accompanied by Prince Cryspin Jjunju Kiwewa and Princess Katrina Ssangalyambogo
Namasole Margaret Ssiwoza, Prince and Princes were among the dignitaries who graced the ocassion.
Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga led the opening prayers, he urged the youths to calculate the time they spend on watching the television.
BBS TV's CEO, Joseph Kigozi promised to promoted the standard of BBS and also to increase on a number of staff from 82 to 200 by the end of this year.
Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, said that BBS TV is as a result of being united. He thanked Mzee Diriisa Kizza Ssali of Nakaseeta, Ssingo County who first introduced the idea of establishing a Buganda television to the Katikkiro during Ettoffaali fundraising drive in Ssingo.
He added, because the Kabaka wanted a media platform that educates His subjects issues about culture and traditional norms of Buganda, that's why central broadcasting services (cbs fm ) was introduced in 1996 and now Buganda Broadcasting services (BBSTV) has also been established with the aim of educating His people about cultural matters.
Launching BBSTV is part of the activities put in place to celebrate the 61st Birthday of the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II
Main celebrations will be held tomorrow at Kings College Buddo.
